The First Hebrew City
Tel Aviv Tours
Tel Aviv Tours
There is a well-known Israeli saying: Haifa works, Jerusalem prays, and Tel Aviv parties. And indeed, Tel Aviv has grown into a vibrant, cosmopolitan city — alive with culture, history, and energy at every hour of the day or night. But beyond the glittering skyscrapers and buzzing nightlife lies another story: the roots of the First Hebrew City, the visionaries who built it, and the unique character that still shapes it today. As its name suggests, Tel Aviv — “Spring Hill” in Hebrew — is a city where the ancient and the modern, the traditional and the new, constantly meet. On my Tel Aviv Tours, I will guide you through the seam lines that connect these worlds. Together we will uncover the history, culture, and hidden corners of this exciting city — experiencing Tel Aviv in a way that goes far deeper than its surface.
THE FIRST
HEBREW CITY
A HISTORICAL
TOUR OF TEL AVIV
On these full-day Private Tel Aviv Tours, we’ll trace the city’s roots and watch its story unfold. Walking along Rothschild Boulevard and nearby streets, we’ll uncover how a small neighborhood became a thriving metropolis. You’ll see iconic Bauhaus architecture, hear the stories of Tel Aviv’s founding families, and understand why the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Among others, we’ll visit the Shalom Tower — featuring mosaics and models of the city’s beginnings — Independence Hall, where the State of Israel was declared in 1948, and finish at the beautifully restored Templer Colony of Sarona. With me as your Israel Tour Guide, you’ll not only learn the history but also feel the unique rhythm that makes Tel Aviv unlike any other city in Israel.

A TOUR OF JAFFA
AND NEVE TZEDEK
Right beside modern Tel Aviv lies one of the world’s oldest port cities: Jaffa. With a history that stretches back thousands of years, Jaffa is a place where legend and reality meet. Egyptian pharaohs, Greek myths, biblical tales, and stories of Jewish immigration have all left their mark here — making it one of the most fascinating stops on any one of my Private Tel Aviv Tours.
We’ll begin in Jaffa’s Old City, exploring its ancient streets, historic port, and religious landmarks, where layers of history come alive. From the Church of Saint Peter to Tel Jaffa and the House of Simon the Tanner, every corner tells a story.
In the afternoon, we’ll shift gears and step into Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv’s first Jewish neighborhood outside Jaffa’s old walls. Today it’s one of the city’s most stylish quarters, full of galleries, boutique shops, and beautifully restored houses. Walking its streets, you’ll see how Tel Aviv’s past blends seamlessly with its modern, creative spirit.
With me as your Israel Tour Guide, you’ll experience both the ancient soul of Jaffa and the fresh energy of Neve Tzedek — a journey that shows how Tel Aviv grew from sand dunes into the vibrant city it is today..

ZION
BY THE SEA
A TOUR OF ZIONIST SITES
IN TEL AVIV
Our journey begins at Clock Tower Square, a gateway between old Jaffa and modern Tel Aviv. At the Etzel Museum, we’ll uncover the role of Jewish underground movements in the fight for independence. In Neve Tzedek, the city’s first Jewish neighborhood, we’ll see how pioneering families laid the groundwork for the “First Hebrew City.”
The heart of the day is a visit to Independence Hall, where David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the birth of the State of Israel in 1948. From there, we’ll continue to Trumpeldor Cemetery, final resting place of early Zionist leaders, and the Altalena Memorial, where the young state faced one of its greatest challenges.
We’ll finish at the Ben-Gurion House, the modest home of Israel’s first Prime Minister, and at the lively Tel Aviv Port, today a vibrant public space but once a key point for Jewish immigration.
By the end of this tour, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how Tel Aviv became the beating heart of modern Israel — and how the vision of Zionism turned into a state.
